Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) Services. Ensuring compliance, safety, and efficiency from the earliest stages of your project.
Expert led compliance with seamless project integration.
Under the Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013, appointing a Project Supervisor for the Design Process (PSDP) is a legal requirement for construction projects in Ireland. The PSDP plays a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks during the design phase, ensuring a safe working environment throughout construction and beyond.
Our team of experts can support our clients on projects to identify and mitigate hazards, ensure compliance to legal regulations, and prepare a health and Safety recommendations report to ensure decisions by the designers and builders have a positive impact on the future users of the building.
When to appoint a PSDP consultant?
All projects must appoint a PSDP consultant if:
A projects construction work is greater than 30 working days
If more than one contractor or sub-contractor are working on the construction of the project
If there is a specific risk associated with the project
If work will exceed 500 person days.
Addressing safety and health matters at the early stages of design ensures effective planning throughout all stages of the build. At the design stage, we will evaluate the proposals for safety, constructability, maintenance and coordinate work of designers and architects in organising design risk assessments. Prior to works commencing, we will prepare the Preliminary Health and Safety Plan for the construction of the project and assess the proposals set out by the Project Supervisor (Construction) Stage (PSCS) Health & Safety Plan. During works, we will carry out site inspections. On completion, we will compile and deliver the Safety File to the Client.
At BB7 we will act as Health & Safety Design Coordinator in the capacity of Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) of any construction project. We will work with you to build safer spaces for all.
We clarify project aims be they, statutory compliance and life safety through property and asset protection to environmental or reputational damage limitation. Our input to the project brief will help establish the ground rules.
Design
We interpret codes and standards and apply fire engineering from concept strategy, plans review and planning application to detailed design.
Specify
We assist the wider design team in setting the minimum standard and appropriate specification for active and passive fire safety systems. Asking the right questions of suppliers during bid phase and helping with selection. In this way a single focal point is created for all fire related information.
